Tiddlywinks is a small independent pre school situated within the Springfield Parish Centre. The Pre School was opened in 2004 and provides care for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years
Our aim is to create a compassionate, nurturing and supportive environment for children, providing a place for everyone to thrive and grow with love and support.
Our qualified staff have the experience to ensure the highest quality of care whilst encouraging each child to realise their potential. All staff have a full paediatric first aid certificate and are DBS checked.
Your child will have the opportunity to take part in specially tailored activities, taking into account your child’s interests they will progress at their own pace. We work within the EYFS to acquire skills and improve their ability to communicate and gain confidence whilst having fun and making new friends.
Tiddlywinks Day
We open at 8.30 until 4pm term time only and offer full days and morning and afternoon sessions. We have two different age appropriate rooms. Days are carefully planned for each individual child’s needs and activities which encourage learning through play.
Each room has a home corner, mark making area and a variety of easily accessible toys . The children have free flow access to a large outside area which includes a mud kitchen, garden area and a large space for the children to use bikes and scooters.
Tiddlywinks runs an indoor/outdoor policy so children can have access to both areas all year round.
Toddlers 2-3 years (red room)
At this age children are gaining in confidence and becoming a little independent. To encourage this we have a planned programme of activities based around the Early Years Foundation Stage which will stimulate each child’s individual needs as your child learns through play. We understand that each child is individual and all have their own requirements and we will work with you and your child to support them to reach their full potential.
Pre-School 3-5 years (green room)
At this age the children will be getting ready to transition into school, we try to encourage the children’s independence throughout the sessions by building on life skills.
Our curriculum incorporates school readiness into their everyday play and learning.
We have a close working relationship with the local schools who inform us how to best support the children with the skills needed when starting school which makes starting school less stressful.
Meals and Snacks
Mid morning snack (rolling snack)
Lunch is a cooked meal, prepared in our kitchen Afternoon snack (rolling snack)
Water is available at all times.
Daily menu is displayed in the nursery noticeboard.
Special dietary requirements and allergies will be catered for.
Fees
Fees include all snacks, lunches and refreshment.
All arts, crafts and educational materials.
Nappies and wipes.
We are open term time only and fees are payable per calendar month in advance.
How to Reserve a Place for your Child
We welcome all potential parents/carers to visit and meet the tiddlywinks team. Please telephone or email us to arrange an appointment to view the nursery or to check place availability.
After acceptance of the offered place a deposit of £30 is due with the enrolment form. This is non refundable but £25 will be deducted from the first month’s fees.
