Tiddlywinks Preschool
Tiddlywinks is a small independant pre-school situated within the Springfield Parish Centre, for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. Our aim is to provide a safe and caring environment so that you will feel confident your child is happy and secure. Our qualified staff have the experience to ensure the highest quality of care while encouraging each child to realise their potential.
Your child will have the opportunity to take part in specially tailored activities progressing at his or her own pace towards approved learning outcomes, acquiring skills, improving their abilty to communicate and gaining confidence while having fun and making new friends.
Tiddlywinks Day
We open at 8.30 until 4pm term time only, and offer full days and part time places. We divide
into age groups each group having their own room. Days are carefully planned for each
individual child’s needs with activities which encourage learning through play.
Each room has a home corner, mark making area and a variety of easily accessible toys and free flow to a large outside area which includes a mud kitchen, garden area and a large space for the children to use bikes and scooters.
Toddlers 2-3 years (red room)
At this age children are gaining in confidence and becoming a little more independent. To
encourage this we have a planned programme of activities based around nd the Early Years
Foundation Stage which will stimulate each child’s individual needs as your child learns through play. We understand that each child is individual and all have their own requirements and we will work with you and your child to support this.
Pre-School 3-5 years (green room)
At this age the children will be getting ready to transition into school, we try to encourage the
children’s independence throughout the sessions by building on life skills.
Our curriculum incorporates school readiness into their everyday play and learning.
We have a close working relationship with the local schools and are informed that our children
go to school with the skills needed which makes starting school less stressful.
Meals and Snacks
A nutritionally balanced diet is provided for every child throughout the day.
- Mid morning snack.
- Lunch is a cooked meal. prepared in out kitchen
- Afternoon snack.
- Water is available at all times.
Daily menus are displayed in the nursery noticeboard.
Special dietary needs can be catered for.
Fees
Fees include: All snacks and refreshments. All art, craft and educational materials.
So that we can maintain continuity within the nursery routine children must attend and minimum of two sessions per week.
We open term time only. Fees are payable per calendar month in advance.
